Why does Shah Rukh Khan prefer working with women directors? | WATCH

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, known as the 'King of Romance,' recently shared his thoughts on working with female filmmakers. In an old video, Khan explained why he prefers collaborating with women directors, saying their approach is often more “nuanced and overarching."
"Men compartmentalise their feelings... But women are more nuanced and overarching. They go all over the place. I think I enjoy working with women because of their sensitivity... to be honest... I don't want to belittle the importance of some great directors who are also very nice optically like Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Karan Johar, Mani Ratnam," Shah Rukh could be heard saying.
He also mentioned that films directed by women tend to look "nicer."
"Whether it is the colours and not to take away from all the great male directors I worked with and I don't want to sound inappropriate... They do smell better," he said.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's comedy-drama Dunki. The film, which deals with illegal immigration through the "donkey flight" technique, features Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal in supporting roles.
Looking ahead, Khan is set to star in the film King, which will also feature his daughter, Suhana Khan. Production for King is expected to begin in January 2025. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film is an action thriller that will showcase Shah Rukh and Suhana together on screen for the first time. Suhana, who made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies, will be joined by Abhishek Bachchan, who will play the antagonist.
King is planned for a 2026 release and will be filmed in Europe. The movie promises to be a high-octane action thriller with a star-studded cast and international locations.
