Samay Raina's US visa cancelled over Donald Trump comedy? Viral claim debunked

A viral claim that the US government revoked comedian Samay Raina's visa over a Donald Trump parody on India's Got Latent Season 2 has been widely shared across social media. The claim, however, is false.
There is no evidence that US authorities have cancelled, suspended or revoked Samay Raina's visa. Neither the US State Department nor US President Donald Trump has issued any statement announcing such action, despite claims circulating online.
The speculation began after a recent episode of India's Got Latent Season 2 featured comedian and content creator Avinash Agarwal performing a Donald Trump mimicry act. The segment, which was filmed in the presence of actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, quickly gained attention online and generated discussion among viewers.
Soon after the episode began trending, social media users started sharing a screenshot purportedly taken from Trump's social media platform, Truth Social. The viral image claimed that Trump had personally directed the US State Department to revoke Samay Raina's visa because of the parody featured on India's Got Latent.
The screenshot rapidly spread across X, Instagram and other platforms, prompting many users to question whether the comedian had become embroiled in yet another controversy linked to India's Got Latent.
Is the viral Truth Social post real?
No.
The screenshot being circulated online is not an authentic government communication and has not been verified by any official source. There is no record of Trump making such a statement, nor is there any indication that the US government has initiated any visa-related action against Samay Raina.
In fact, the image appears to have originated as a satirical social media post that was later shared without context. As the screenshot travelled across platforms, many users mistakenly interpreted it as a genuine announcement.

Why did so many people believe the claim?
Part of the reason the rumour gained traction is that the parody itself referenced several topics currently dominating global headlines and closely associated with Trump's political rhetoric.
During the India's Got Latent segment, the comedian touched on issues including H-1B visas, US tariff policies, the Iran-Israel conflict, tensions involving the Strait of Hormuz and the long-running Jeffrey Epstein controversy. Because the performance mixed real-world geopolitical issues with Trump-style commentary, the fake Truth Social post appeared believable to some viewers when it began circulating online.
As of now, there has been no statement from the US government, the US State Department or any recognised authority suggesting that Samay Raina's visa has been revoked.
