Salman Khan’s rumoured girlfriend scripts history! Becomes first to sing Bollywood song at Vatican

Actress and singer Iulia Vantur recently made history when she performed the Bollywood classic “Teri Meri Prem Kahani” from the film Bodyguard—starring superstar Salman Khan—at the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall.
What made the performance historic?
The occasion marked the first time a Bollywood song was ever performed at the Vatican, in the presence of the Pope and several distinguished guests. The moment turned into a proud representation of India’s cultural reach on the global stage.
Iulia also had the rare opportunity to meet His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. Reflecting on the experience, she said, “Meeting the Pope was an experience beyond words. His presence radiates warmth and kindness. It filled me with gratitude and a deep sense of calm and reminded me that true faith lies in compassion, humility, and human connection.”
How did she feel singing at the Vatican?
Sharing her thoughts on the performance, Iulia said, “Singing Teri Meri at the Vatican was more than just a performance, it was a prayer through music. To bring an Indian song to such a spiritual place felt magical. It showed that music can cross every border and every faith and speak the language of love.”
In addition to the Bollywood song, Iulia also performed the original Romanian version of Teri Meri, followed by her new unreleased track, titled “Corinde Corinde.” She later joined Grammy-winning producer Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, along with international musicians Stephen Devassy, Vijay Yesudas, and others, for a heartfelt rendition of “We Are the New World (Keep Doing Good),” an anthem that celebrates hope, unity, and kindness.
How did her collaboration with Poo Bear happen?
Adding to the global significance of the moment, Iulia collaborated with Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Poo Bear, known for creating hits like “Despacito” and working with Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, and Usher. Speaking about the experience, Iulia said, “Recording alongside Poo Bear was an honour. He’s one of the most respected music creators in the world, and to sing with him on such a platform was unforgettable.”
What was the occasion about?
The historic performance took place during the 60th anniversary celebration of Nostra Aetate, part of the Second Vatican Council’s declaration promoting dialogue, understanding, and harmony among world religions.
