Mumbai: Saiyaara star Aneet Padda, who has taken the country by storm with her recent performance, is winning hearts once again, but this time, for a reason that dates back more than a decade.

A video from 2012-13, showing a young Aneet performing on stage during the Annual Theatre Festival, has resurfaced online and is melting hearts everywhere. The footage, originally uploaded to YouTube in 2014, was recently shared by a fan on Instagram, where it quickly went viral.

In the clip, a 10 or 11-year-old Aneet is seen donning a vibrant yellow and green kurta, confidently performing in front of a cheering crowd, long before the lights of fame found her.

The actor, clearly moved by the nostalgic moment, responded warmly to the fan’s post. “Oh my god, this was a defining moment for me,” she wrote in her Instagram story. “Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this, I’ve been trying to find it for the longest time-smiling so wide my cheeks hurt.”

The fan who posted the video captioned it: “This is so cute. Found this on YouTube. How adorable you are @aneetpadda\_.”* The original video link continues to gain traction as fans pour in their admiration.

Fans call her a ‘star since day one’

The post triggered an outpouring of love in the comments section. One fan declared, “Always a Stargirl,” while another wrote, “She’s incredibly talented. If she keeps choosing the right scripts, she’ll become a superstar. I hope nepotism doesn’t get in her way.”

Another admirer added, “She was born to be a Saiyaara,” a nod to her titular role in the recent romantic hit. Several others chimed in, praising her as “real talent… better than nepokids.”

Aneet Padda began her career in television advertisements, gradually working her way into the film industry. In 2022, she made a small yet noticeable appearance in Kajol’s Salaam Venky. A year later, she played the lead in Amazon Prime Video’s Big Girls Don’t Cry (2024). In 2025, she featured in the anthology series Yuva: Sapno Ka Safar.

However, it was Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara that truly catapulted her into mainstream stardom. Released in July 2025, the film produced by Yash Raj Films collected a whopping ₹569.75 crore worldwide and continues to dominate box office charts.
