'Rs 200 crores... Thanks': Thudarum reaches new milestone; Mohanlal pens heartfelt post

Kochi: Actor Mohanlal’s latest film Thudarum has achieved a remarkable milestone, crossing the 200 crore mark at the box office.
In a heartfelt post shared on social media, Mohanlal expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming love and support the film has received. "Rs 200 crores Thanks...Some journeys don't need noise, just hearts to carry them forward. Thudarum has found its place in millions of hearts across the world, breaking all the box office records in Kerala. Gratitude for all the love."
Thudarum has taken theatres by storm, collecting a remarkable Rs 5.5 crore on its opening day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, it marks the second-biggest opening for a Malayalam film this year. Topping the list is none other than Mohanlal himself, with L2: Empuraan registering a massive Rs 18.6 crore on its debut day.
The film, which hit theatres on April 25, crossed the ₹200 crore mark in global collections in just 17 days. Only two Malayalam films had previously achieved this milestone. Thudarum is now Mohanlal's second film to enter the ₹200 crore club.
Out of the three Malayalam films that have grossed over ₹200 crore globally, two feature Mohanlal in the lead. The other two films to achieve this feat are Empuraan and Manjummel Boys.
Thudarum also recently became the highest-grossing Malayalam film in Kerala, surpassing the collections of 2018, the Jude Anthany Joseph–Tovino Thomas film. Interestingly, despite crossing ₹250 crore worldwide, Empuraan could not outperform 2018 at the Kerala box office.
Thudarum marks Mohanlal’s second ₹200 crore hit within just two months.
