Romance rumours between Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur surfaces!

Speculation is running high in film circles as rumours of a budding romance between South Indian star Dhanush and Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur surface. The rumours follow Dhanush’s recent visit to Mrunal Thakur’s birthday party.

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, officially ended their 18-year-long marriage last November. Although the couple had been living separately since 2022, the family court in Chennai finalised their divorce in late 2024. They have two children.

After the legal separation, Dhanush was spotted at actress Mrunal Thakur’s birthday celebration on August 1, which raised eyebrows. Further fueling the rumours, the actor also attended the special screening of Son of Sardaar 2 in Mumbai, a film featuring Mrunal alongside Ajay Devgn.

A video from the event showing Mrunal and Dhanush engaged in a seemingly close and private conversation went viral on social media. In the clip, Mrunal is seen leaning in and speaking softly to Dhanush, which many interpreted as a moment of intimacy. Fans quickly began speculating about a possible romantic connection between the two.

Comments ranged from enthusiastic curiosity to disbelief. One user wrote, “Not confirmed yet, but there are definitely signs.” Another chimed “they seem like close friends to me.” A third commented, “Seriously? I find it hard to believe.”

Adding more weight to the rumours, Mrunal was also seen at a private party in July hosted by Tere Ishq Mein writer-producer Kanika Dhillon, where Dhanush was also present. Kanika later shared pictures from the event on Instagram, and in the very first photo, Dhanush and Mrunal appear together.

As of now, neither Dhanush nor Mrunal Thakur has made any official statement addressing the rumours.
