Rekka Rekka Rocks! Arivu and Vedan deliver chartbuster in Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’

Diwali is set to get even more festive in Kollywood as Bison Kaalamaadan, directed by Mari Selvaraj and featuring Dhruv Vikram in the lead role, is scheduled to hit theatres on October 17. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Anupama Parameswaran, Lal, Pasupathy, and Rajisha Vijayan.
Touted as a sports drama, the film has fans eagerly awaiting another thunderous performance from Dhruv — fondly called by many as Vikram Jr. The young actor has already showcased sparks of brilliance in his previous outings, Varmaa and Mahaan.
Apart from its stellar cast, fans have another reason to cheer: the film also brings together two of South India’s most outstanding rappers, Arivu and Vedan.
The makers of Bison Kaalamaadan have released the film’s second single, titled Rekka Rekka. The pulsating Tamil track blends folk rhythms with electronic sounds and is composed by Nivas K. Prasanna. The number unites singer-lyricist Arivu and singer Vedan, with impactful lyrics penned by Mari Selvaraj and Arivu.
With Pa. Ranjith as part of the production and cinematography handled by Ezhil Arasu K., the film is backed by Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios.
Powerful combo
Rekka Rekka marks the coming together of two of South Indian cinema’s fiercest political rappers, and fans can hardly contain their excitement.
For the uninitiated, Arivu has made his mark as both a lyricist and singer with stellar works including Vaathi Raid from Master and Neeye Oli from Sarpatta Parambarai. He also co-created the viral track Enjoy Enjaami featuring Dhee. Arivu is undoubtedly rapping his way to glory.
Vedan, meanwhile, shot to international fame with Kuthanthram from the acclaimed film Manjummel Boys — a song that explores friendship, belonging, identity, struggle, and survival. He has been making statements through his music for years, whether with the music video Vaa, Vada Veda from Narivetta, or the recently released Mauna Loa. The talented rapper and songwriter has also featured in Kisses in the Clouds from All We Imagine as Light.
The latest collaboration between Arivu and Vedan is currently being celebrated by music fans across the board.
