‘Ramayana’ trailer leaked again: Fans stitch clips into 2-minute trailer; goes viral

Even before its official launch, the trailer for Nitesh Tiwari's ‘Ramayana Part 1’ has found its way onto social media once again.

The preview, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Rakul Preet Singh, has been leaked repeatedly over the past few days after being screened at exclusive events. The latest round of leaked footage appeared online following the film's presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, with fans now urging the makers to release the trailer instead of letting unofficial clips continue to circulate.

The leaks have snowballed to the point where one X user collected several short videos shared by different people and edited them into what appears to be a nearly two-minute trailer. Although there is no confirmation that this fan-made compilation matches the version prepared by the filmmakers, it has spread rapidly across social media.

The unauthorised videos have triggered mixed reactions online. Some viewers said the scale and visuals looked promising, while others felt it was too early to judge the film based on incomplete footage. A section of fans also compared what they saw to other mythological films.

One X user wrote, "#Ramayan trailer leaked to be honest it look more like Adipurush but we have to wait and watch. Ranbir in ANIMAL has negative impact on this movie as RAM. I didn't get goosebumps."

This is not the first time footage from the trailer has surfaced online. Earlier, selected scenes were leaked after the Pratham Sankalp event held in New Delhi on July 18, where the trailer was screened for attendees. Fresh clips began appearing again after the Comic-Con presentation on July 24, making it the second major leak ahead of the official release.

The repeated leaks have also raised questions about how footage from a project of this scale managed to reach the public before its scheduled launch.

Expressing disappointment, another social media user wrote, "It's disappointing that a film as big as #Ramayana couldn't protect its trailer from leaking before the official release. The makers should have had stronger security measures in place. Months of hard work deserve better than an online leak."

Many fans echoed a similar sentiment, saying the production team should simply unveil the trailer officially instead of allowing grainy leaked videos to dominate the conversation.

Meanwhile, producer Namit Malhotra shared an important update on Instagram, revealing that the trailer's release plans have changed. According to him, the decision follows the film's new collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, which will help take the project to audiences worldwide.

Announcing the development, Malhotra wrote, "Today is a very special moment for our 'Ramayana', my dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above we will be launching our trailer now globally at a later date."

While the producer confirmed that the trailer has been postponed in favour of a global launch, he did not reveal when audiences can expect to see it.
