Sai Pallavi reveals her checklist for a husband on KBC 18; Opens up about playing Sita in ‘Ramayana’

Sai Pallavi has a few things in mind when it comes to choosing a life partner, and knowing how to cook is one of them.
The actor shared her thoughts on relationships during an appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, where she was joined by her ‘Ramayana’ co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Ravie Dubey. Host Amitabh Bachchan asked her what she would look for in the man she wanted to spend her life with.
“Pehle achche insaan hone chahiye (Firstly he should be a good man). He should not be very self-centred. He should be someone who is introspective. One who checks on his actions. So someone who has some insight about where he is in life… he can make mistakes but he must mend it too. It should not be that he is blaming it on someone else. It is not that there is a huge list but he should be a good person and it would be better if he also knows how to cook!”
Sai Pallavi on accepting the role of Sita in ‘Ramayana’
The conversation also offered a glimpse into how Sai approached one of the most significant roles of her career. Playing Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's ‘Ramayana’ was not simply another acting assignment for her. The actor said she approached the opportunity by thinking less about what she could bring to the character and more about what the experience might teach her.

“I didn’t want to use my head this time. Every time when I play a character, I think, 'What can I give to that character? ' but this was the first time when I thought, 'What can I get for playing a role like that of Sita Maa? Like what knowledge will I gain from this?' So, I wanted to keep the process transparent. I didn’t want to think about anything. I prayed to Sita Maa and went forward with it.”
Her approach, as she described it, was rooted in prayer and a willingness to learn from the role rather than overthink how she should portray it.
Ramayana's Los Angeles premiere
The actor's comments come as the team prepares for the film's theatrical release. On October 27, she joined Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra at the Los Angeles world premiere of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend. The screening was held at the David Geffen Theatre at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
Sai wore a hot pink saree by designer Anushree Reddy for the event, bringing a traditional Indian look to the international red carpet. The premiere took place ahead of the film's scheduled worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.
