Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia, who became household names as Lord Ram and Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic television series ‘Ramayan’ (1987), are reuniting on screen after nearly four decades. The actors will share the screen in ‘Notice’, a film directed by Pradeep Gupta that brings their much-loved pairing back in a contemporary story.

Unlike their mythological roles, the actors will feature in a modern-day drama centred on the fight against corruption and the struggle to save a historic shop from redevelopment. Here is everything to know about the film, its plot and OTT release.

What is the plot of ‘Notice’?

‘Notice’ revolves around a 150-year-old shop that faces the threat of being lost to development and corruption. Arun Govil plays a man determined to protect the establishment, while Dipika Chikhlia portrays his supportive wife.

Producer and actor Aditya Pratap Singh Raghuvanshi described the film as a contemporary take on the relationship between Ram and Sita. Speaking to Mid-Day, he said the story would resonate with people who have lost their homes or businesses because of development projects.

The producer also explained why Govil and Chikhlia were the right choice for the film, drawing a parallel between their iconic ‘Ramayan’ pairing and the new story’s central conflict between truth and falsehood. He described ‘Notice’ as a modern-day ‘Ramayan’.

‘Notice’ OTT release date: When and where to watch

‘Notice’ will skip a theatrical release and premiere directly on the OTT platform Waves on November 6. Following its digital premiere, the film will also reach viewers through 36 satellite television channels.

Explaining the decision to opt for a digital and television release, Raghuvanshi said the makers wanted to reach a wider audience, particularly fans of Govil and Chikhlia who grew up watching them on television.

He told Mid-Day that the team believed streaming on mobile phones and airing the film on satellite television would help the story reach audiences across the country.
