After a successful run in cinemas, Ram Charan's ‘Peddi’ is now heading to OTT. The sports action drama will begin streaming on Netflix from 9 July 2026, giving audiences another chance to watch the film from home.
The film stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, marking their first on-screen collaboration. While the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions will be available this week, Hindi viewers will have to wait a little longer.
Netflix confirms OTT release
Netflix India South announced the digital premiere on X, writing, "Watch Peddi, out 9 July, in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam and Coming soon in Hindi, on Netflix."
Earlier reports had suggested that the Hindi version would arrive on 30 July 2026, following the mandatory eight-week theatrical window applicable to Hindi releases.
‘Peddi’ was released in cinemas on 4 June and received a mixed response from both critics and audiences. Many viewers appreciated Ram Charan's performance and commanding screen presence. However, some felt that sections of the screenplay could have been stronger, while others were disappointed with the way Janhvi Kapoor's character was written.
Despite the divided reviews, the film performed well at the box office and went on to become one of the biggest commercial successes of the year.
Cast and story
Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani in important roles.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, ‘Peddi’ is set in an oppressed tribal village in Andhra Pradesh that does not officially exist in government records.
The story follows Peddi, played by Ram Charan, a daily wage labourer who initially plays village cricket to earn money. As the film progresses, he transforms into a multi-sport athlete, fighting for official recognition, a railway stop and a better future for his forgotten community. His journey becomes a larger fight for dignity, identity and justice.
