Baby on the way! Rajkummar Rao, Patralekhaa share big news

Actor Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa took to social media to share the news of their first pregnancy.

The couple posted a sweet announcement image on Instagram with a floral cradle sketch with the words "Baby on the way" written across it. Below the cradle, their names were gently inscribed.

Keeping it simple and heartfelt, the couple summed up their feelings in one word: “Elated”, with a couple of red heart emojis for good measure.

From co-stars to soulmates

Rajkummar and Patralekhaa’s journey has always been something out of a modern-day fairytale. The two dated for 11 years before tying the knot in November 2021. They first met on the sets of a music video titled ‘Yeh Aashiqui’.

Interestingly, Patralekhaa had seen Rajkummar in ‘Love, Sex Aur Dhokha’ before meeting him and thought he looked a bit creepy. But things changed once they worked together, they quickly bonded over films and found common ground.

Their chemistry translated on-screen as well, with their Bollywood debut as a pair in ‘CityLights’ back in 2014. Since then, they’ve shared screen space in several projects, including the web series ‘Bose: Dead/Alive.’ 

Patralekhaa was most recently seen in ‘Phule’, a film based on the lives of social reformers Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. The film, directed by Anant Mahadevan, was backed by Dancing Shiva Films, Kingsmen Productions, and Zee Studios.

Rajkummar, on the other hand, is all set to appear next in ‘Maalik’, where he takes on the role of a ruthless gangster. The film, which also stars Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee, is scheduled to hit theatres on 11 July.
