Rajinikanth’s extraordinary journey from a Bengaluru bus conductor to one of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars could soon be explored on the big screen. Reports suggest that an autobiography chronicling the actor’s life is currently in development, with discussions reportedly underway about adapting the story into a feature film.

While neither Rajinikanth nor his team has officially announced the autobiography or a possible film adaptation, reports indicate that the veteran actor has been working on the book for some time.

The reported project has generated interest among fans as it could offer a closer look at the personal struggles, career milestones and experiences that shaped the actor’s decades-long journey in cinema.

Rajinikanth’s autobiography to cover his life journey

According to reports from Movies Singapore, the autobiography is expected to explore several significant chapters of Rajinikanth’s life, including his early struggles, rise to fame, professional achievements and memorable moments from his career.

The book is reportedly being developed as a detailed account of the actor’s personal and professional journey, tracing his transformation from an ordinary worker to a global film icon.

Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya had earlier confirmed that her father was working on his autobiography. She revealed that the book would begin with his early days as a bus conductor in Bengaluru before documenting his rise as a superstar.

“For our dear Thalaiva, the man who paved his own way through hard work, Rajini sir has already begun writing his life history, beginning from his struggles as a bus conductor in Bengaluru to becoming a superstar in Kollywood,” she told Galatta.

She also described the autobiography as a complete reflection of his life and career.

“This autobiography will give insight into his journey and the effort he has put in for every single role and in his life...it will be a global sensation," she said.

Is Rajinikanth’s autobiography being turned into a film?

Reports have also suggested that the actor has discussed the possibility of adapting the autobiography into a feature film with people close to him.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Rajinikanth or his team regarding the reported biopic plans.

From bus conductor to Indian cinema icon

Before becoming a superstar, Rajinikanth worked as a bus conductor in Bengaluru. His journey from a modest background to becoming one of the most celebrated actors in India has remained a source of inspiration for millions.

Over more than five decades, he has appeared in films across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada cinema. His performances, unique style and immense popularity have earned him a dedicated global fan base.

The actor has also received several prestigious honours, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Rajinikanth’s upcoming films

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth continues to be active in cinema. His upcoming major release is ‘Jailer 2’, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, which is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 15.

The actor is also working on ‘Dharman’, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. The film marks another collaboration between Rajinikanth and actor Simran after their previous project ‘Petta’ (2019).
