‘The man who served you food is the producer of more than 10 superhit films’

Amid the ongoing conflict between film producers and top actors, noted writer, academician and politician Dr K S Radhakrishnan has voiced strong support for producer Suresh Kumar. In a Facebook post, he asserted that no one in the film industry has endured financial losses like producers and described the current situation as an internal war between producers’ associations and superstar factions.

Radhakrishnan also shared a striking personal anecdote with late acclaimed scriptwriter and film producer John Paul. During a visit with John Paul, he dined at a hotel, only to later learn that its owner was a producer who had delivered over 10 superhit films. The revelation, made by John Paul as they got into their car, highlighted the stark realities of the industry.

He reminded everyone that cinema is a collective effort, much like a group song that cannot be sung alone. It is the common people who sustain this art form, and alienating them would be a grave mistake, he warned.
