Priyanka Chopra's Marathi film ‘Paani’ set for theatre release on October 18

Mumbai: Actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas is gearing up for the release of her new production, Paani, which will hit theatres on October 18. 

Priyanka took to Instagram, where she shared the motion poster of the film and captioned it: “This is very very special. Our Marathi feature film ‘Paani’ is all set to release theatrically on 18th October. Rajshri Entertainment and Purple Pebble Pictures Presents ‘Paani’ in association with Kothare Vision Pvt Ltd.”

The drama film, directed by Addinath Kothare, tells the story of a man from Nagderwadi, a drought-stricken village in Nanded. The film follows his efforts to make the village self-sufficient in water while overcoming various challenges.

Produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Madhu Chopra under their banner, Purple Pebble Pictures, which was established in 2015, the film features Subodh Bhave, Kishore Kadam, Addinath Kothare, and Rucha Vaidya. Paani, released in 2019, won the National Film Award for Best Film on Environment Conservation.

On the acting front, Priyanka has completed filming for her upcoming movie The Bluff. She recently shared moments from her last day on set and pictures from the wrap-up party on her Instagram stories. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, The Bluff is a swashbuckling drama set in the 19th-century Caribbean Islands. The film also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Vedanten Naidoo. Priyanka plays a former pirate who must protect her family when her past catches up with her.

Priyanka is also preparing for the second season of the spy action thriller Citadel, created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil, with the Russo brothers as executive producers. The first season starred Richard Madden. The Indian adaptation, Citadel: Honey Bunny, featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is set to premiere on November 7.
