‘Never seen someone so shameless and…’: Piyush Mishra reveals Ranbir Kapoor’s real off-camera side

Veteran actor Piyush Mishra has offered a striking description of Ranbir Kapoor, praising the star for his uninhibited personality and effortless approach to acting. Speaking to The Lallantop, Mishra shared candid insights into what it’s like to work with the Kapoor heir, noting that he is nothing like the image attached to his celebrated lineage.

Mishra said he was surprised by how lightly Ranbir carries the weight of the Kapoor family legacy. “Ranbir doesn’t carry even 1 per cent of his legacy,” he remarked, adding that the actor remains completely unaffected by the expectations associated with his iconic family.

According to Mishra, Ranbir’s personality on set is refreshingly carefree. “Arre, don’t even ask, that guy is something else,” he said, describing him as “light,” “free,” and entirely unrestrictive in his behaviour.

In his trademark humorous style, Mishra added, “Itna nanga besharam aadmi maine aaj tak nahi dekha!” (I’ve never seen such an open, shameless man in my life).

He explained that Ranbir maintains razor-sharp focus during work, but the moment the shot is done, he instantly returns to his relaxed, easygoing self. “He comes from such a long, long legacy — his father, his grandfather, his great-grandfather — but none of that burdens him. Not even 1 per cent,” Mishra said, highlighting what he sees as the actor’s rare ability to stay grounded and unfazed by expectations.
