Muvattupuzha: Director Jeethu Joseph has revealed that he has completed writing the climax and first draft script of the much-awaited third part of the Drishyam film series starring Mohanlal.

Speaking at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, his alma mater, while inaugurating the Film and Drama Club, Jeethu shared that writing the script had been a tough journey.

“It was only last night that I finished writing the climax of Drishyam 3. The first draft is now complete. I was under tension for a long time.”

He further shared how intense the writing process had been, particularly while simultaneously managing the shoot of Mirage and Valathu Vashathe Kallan.

“I would wake up at 3:30 am every day to write. It was a real struggle, both physically and mentally. But I finally got relief yesterday,” Jeethu said.

The third instalment of Drishyam will be produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, and the shoot is slated to commence in October this year. Incidentally, the Hindi remake, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead, is also expected to begin filming around the same time.

The first chapter of Drishyam, which was released in 2013, was hailed as a masterclass in suspense storytelling and was later remade into several Indian languages. Its sequel, Drishyam 2: The Resumption, released in 2021, continued the gripping saga of Georgekutty and his family, garnering widespread critical and commercial acclaim.
