Remember the video of crying Peeli; Mammootty meets his little fan and offers gifts

Angadippuram: Last year, the video of a little girl named Dua aka Peeli who burst into tears for not being able to meet actor Mammootty on his birthday had gone viral. Finally, her dream came true. The little one met the mega star and also gifted him a portrait of the actor and herself which was drawn by her father's friend. Mammootty presented her gifts and sweets and bid farewell.

Peeli met Mammootty along with her parents Hameedali and Sajna at the shooting location of the movie 'Puzhu' at Kakkanad in Kochi. They were specially invited by the actor. When they met, Peeli was doubtful if Mammootty had studied with her father.

Five-year-old Dua is a LKG student at St Teresa's School in Puthanangadi. The video of her crying was circulated on September 7 last year. On seeing the video, Mammootty put up a Facebook post consoling her and asking her name.

Surprisingly, two guests arrived at Dua's house after a few days on her birthday. They brought birthday cake and new dress sent by Mammootty. He also video-called her and wished her happy birthday. He assured that they can meet after the Covid threat ends.

Though Mammootty invited Hameedali and family twice later, they could not go. However, Mammootty did not forget to send gifts for his little fan on her birthday this year too.
