Panorama Studios announces two new Malayalam films starring Fahadh Faasil

Kochi: Riding high on the massive pan-Indian success of ‘Drishyam 3’, prominent Indian production house Panorama Studios has officially announced two major upcoming Malayalam feature films. The studio is partnering with veteran Malayalam producer and distributor Jacob K Babu to bankroll both projects.

National Award-winning actor Fahadh Faasil, celebrated across Indian cinema for his highly versatile and risk-taking career, has been locked in to play the lead role in both films.

Fahadh’s streak of critical and commercial blockbusters—including ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’, ‘Kumbalangi Nights’, ‘Joji’, ‘Malik’ and ‘Aavesham’, and his iconic role in the pan-Indian ‘Pushpa’ franchise—has carved out a unique space for him in contemporary cinema. The creators believe his signature character choices and performance style will act as the driving force behind these new ventures.

Actor and producers react to the collaboration

Sharing his excitement about the upcoming double-bill, Fahadh Faasil stated, "What drew me to these projects was the sheer strength of the scripts and the distinct vision of the creative team. As an actor, I am always seeking out roles that challenge me and offer something fresh to the audience. My discussions with Jacob Babu and Panorama Studios have been highly inspiring, and we are working toward bringing these films to theaters next year."

Panorama Studios, widely recognised in Bollywood for producing massive box-office hits like ‘Omkara’, ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Raid’ and ‘Shaitaan’, is rapidly expanding its footprint in the Malayalam film industry.

Beyond ‘Drishyam 3’ and these two new Fahadh Faasil projects, the studio’s robust Malayalam slate includes ‘Anomie’ (starring Rahman and Bhavana), Asif Ali’s ‘Tikitaaka’, the Kunchacko Boban-Lijomol Jose starrer ‘Unmaadham’, and an untitled upcoming project with Nivin Pauly.

Jacob K Babu, a well-known theater owner and the prominent force behind Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, concluded,

Release timeline

Both films are currently in the active pre-production phase. The production house has revealed that they are targeting a 2027 theatrical release for both projects. The names of the directors, supporting cast and technical crew will be officially unveiled by the team in the coming days.
