Palash Muchhal’s cousin defends him amid cheating rumours after wedding with Smriti Mandhana put on hold

Mumbai: Music composer Palash Muchhal’s cousin, Neeti Tak, has stepped forward to defend him as social media fills with unverified rumours following the sudden pause of his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana. With allegations of cheating spreading rapidly online, Neeti is urging people not to judge Palash without knowing the real situation.
‘Don’t judge him without knowing the truth,’ says cousin
In a note posted on Instagram Stories, Neeti wrote, “Palash is going through a critical condition today, you all should not judge Palash as wrong without knowing the truth.”
She added that technology makes it easy for rumours to spread and asked everyone to pray for him instead of attacking him online.
Why was the wedding halted?
Palash and Smriti were set to marry on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, but the ceremony was stopped just before it began.
Smriti’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana, was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital after showing symptoms of a heart attack.
Hours later, Palash was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli with a sudden health issue.
His sister Palak and their mother were spotted visiting him.
Smriti’s father is now recovering, but neither the family nor Smriti has announced a new wedding date.
Rumours intensify as Smriti deletes wedding posts.
Fans noticed that Smriti removed all wedding-related posts from Instagram, including her engagement announcement and proposal video.
This triggered further speculation about troubles between the couple.
Viral screenshots add to the controversy
The situation escalated when an Instagram user named Mary D’Costa shared alleged private chats with Palash on Reddit.
In the screenshots, dating back to May 2025, Palash reportedly asks her to meet and go for a swim while dodging questions about his relationship status.
Though the user has deactivated her account, the screenshots continue to circulate, fueling talk of cheating allegations, a claim Neeti strongly denies.
