Jaideep Ahlawat returns with darker chapter in 'Paatal Lok' season 2 teaser | WATCH

Streaming giant Prime Video dropped an exciting teaser for the second season of 'Paatal Lok' on Friday. The highly anticipated new season will bring back the brilliant Jaideep Ahlawat as the gritty, washed-up police inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary.

In the short teaser, Jaideep reprises his role as Hathi Ram, a character that made us all fall in love with his nuanced portrayal of a police officer navigating the darker corners of Indian society. The teaser offers just a glimpse of the thrilling new mystery that will unfold in the upcoming season, with Ahlawat once again telling a story from the Mahabharata, but this time with a new twist that’ll keep you hooked.

The show, which aired in May 2020, was celebrated for its intense storytelling and raw, gritty depiction of Indian society. The series introduced us to Hathi Ram, a man caught between his duties as a cop and the moral complexities of his world. Jaideep's performance was lauded for bringing so much depth to this character, and it looks like season two will continue to dig even deeper.

Besides Ahlawat, actors Ishwak Singh and Gul Panag are also returning for the second season. They are joined by newcomers Tillotama Shome, Nagesh Kukunoor and Jahnu Barua.

The eight-episode second season is set to premiere on January 17 on Prime Video.
