Streaming platforms including Netflix, Sony LIV, JioHotstar, Disney+, Apple TV+ and ZEE5 are rolling out several anticipated titles, with everything from star-led originals to returning fan-favourite series making their digital debut.

Here's a look at the biggest releases arriving this week.

Human Vapor

Netflix has launched ‘Human Vapor’, a fresh reimagining of Toho's 1960 tokusatsu classic. The new adaptation follows a man who mysteriously transforms into vapour during a live television broadcast, commits a murder and vanishes without a trace, before threatening more attacks. The reboot combines a new storyline with contemporary visual effects.

Karakkam

‘Karakkam’ makes its streaming debut on Sony LIV on July 3 as Malayalam cinema's first musical horror comedy. The story centres on two friends whose New Year's Eve prank accidentally releases a group of playful spirits, forcing them into a series of increasingly chaotic supernatural encounters as they attempt to undo the damage.

Mollywood Times

Also arriving on July 3 is ‘Mollywood Times’, a psychological dark comedy streaming on JioHotstar. Starring Naslen, Sharaf U Dheen, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Sangeeth Prathap, the film follows an aspiring filmmaker whose dream of becoming Malayalam cinema's leading horror director gradually spirals into an obsession amid industry politics and personal struggles.

Pritam and Pedro

Featuring Arshad Warsi, Vir Hirani, Vikrant Massey, Boman Irani and Mona Singh, the comedy thriller follows an experienced police officer and a young hacker who reluctantly join forces in Goa to track down a cybercriminal behind the kidnapping of a chief minister's son.

Silo (Season 3)

The third season of ‘Silo’ begins streaming on Apple TV+ on July 3. Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zukerman join the cast for the new season.

Muthassi

Malayalam folk horror series ‘Muthassi’ premieres on ZEE5 on July 3. Led by Amith Chakalakkal, Akhila Bhargavan and KPAC Leela, the story unfolds in a village on the Kerala-Karnataka border, where a mother investigates disturbing changes in her young son and uncovers a centuries-old demonic curse linked to her family.

The Husband

Mystery thriller ‘The Husband’ arrives on Disney+ on July 4. Starring Namkoong Min and Lee Seol, the drama follows a man whose search for his abducted wife becomes increasingly dangerous after he is identified as the prime suspect in her disappearance, while she fights to escape captivity with the help of a mysterious stranger.

Better Late Than Single (Season 2)

Netflix brings back its dating reality series ‘Better Late Than Single’ for a second season on July 7. The new instalment introduces another group of singles who have either never dated or missed out on romantic relationships, as they attempt to find love and leave their long-standing single status behind.

Little House on the Prairie

‘Little House on the Prairie’ premieres on Netflix on July 9. Directed by Julie Anne Robinson, the English-language series revisits the story of the Ingalls family as they settle on the American frontier during the 19th century, with daughter Laura Ingalls serving as the central narrator of the family's journey through hardship, resilience and life in the wilderness.

Ikka

Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna reunite on screen nearly three decades after ‘Border’ in Netflix's action drama ‘Ikka’, which premieres on July 10. The film also stars Dia Mirza, Tillotama Shome, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, and has generated considerable buzz following the release of its first-look teaser.

Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea

Netflix's documentary ‘Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea’ begins streaming on July 10. Revisiting the 2012 Costa Concordia disaster, the film recounts one of the deadliest cruise ship accidents in modern history through previously unseen footage and first-hand testimonies from survivors, shedding new light on the tragedy that claimed 32 lives.

Balti

Malayalam sports drama ‘Balti’ starts streaming on Sony LIV on July 10 as part of the platform's Malayalam Movie Fiesta. Starring Shane Nigam and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, the film is set along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border and uses kabaddi as the backdrop for a story exploring friendship, loyalty and the life-changing choices faced by young people. Written and directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam, the film arrives on OTT nearly nine months after its theatrical release.
