New Delhi: Actress Urvashi’s daughter, Kunjatta, also known as Tejalakshmi, has expressed her joy at witnessing her mother receive the National Award.

Sharing a photo with Urvashi on Instagram, Tejalakshmi called it a privilege to see her mother honoured. “One of the most beautiful days of my life. A surreal and proud moment. Watching Amma receive the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for the second time felt like the biggest privilege of my life.

To witness that stage, to be there, and on top of it all, seeing our Lalettan being honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award representing Malayalam cinema. Truly a proud moment for all of us,” she wrote.

Urvashi received the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Ullozhukku'. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award on Tuesday evening. Actor Mohanlal was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the same ceremony.

Tejalakshmi, the daughter of Urvashi and actor Manoj K Jayan, is preparing to make her debut in films. She will play the female lead in 'Sundariyayaval Stella', directed by newcomer Binu Peter, and is also set to appear alongside Urvashi in 'Pablo Party'.
