Mumbai: Bollywood's dhak dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit, has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane by recreating one of the most iconic songs of all time—Mohammed Rafi's ‘O Mera Sona’—with a contemporary twist.
On Tuesday, the actress took to Instagram to share a video of herself dancing to the timeless track, originally sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi. Featured in the 1966 classic Teesri Manzil, the song was originally picturised on Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh.
In the monochrome video, Madhuri, dressed in a graceful white saree, demonstrates her flawless dance moves while lip-syncing to the popular song. Her expressions were spot on, adding a modern flair to the classic tune. Sharing the reel, the Dil Toh Pagal Hai actress captioned it, "Oh mere sona re #tuesday #reelsinstagram #dancereels #trending #trendingreels #explore."
The 57-year-old actress is well-known for sharing dance videos to evergreen Bollywood tracks, particularly from the golden era of the 1990s. Madhuri has a unique ability to revive these classic hits with her signature elegance and energy.
Earlier, Madhuri also posted stunning photos of herself in a velvet suit with the caption, "Retro vibes for the win! #reels #reelsinstagram #oldsongs #trendingreels #trendingdance #retro."
Meanwhile, the Devdas actress is gearing up for a performance at the star-studded IIFA Silver Jubilee celebration in Jaipur.
Expressing her excitement, Madhuri said in a statement, “IIFA has always been a special part of my journey, celebrating the magic of Indian cinema on a global platform.
Over the years, IIFA has given me some of my most cherished moments—whether through heartfelt performances or connecting with fans around the world. This year, as IIFA celebrates its historic Silver Jubilee edition, honouring 25 years of Indian cinema’s incredible global legacy, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. Performing in Jaipur, Rajasthan, a city so rich in culture and heritage, makes this milestone even more memorable.
