‘Of course, it has to shock...’ Asha Sharath on Drishyam 3 climax

Kochi: As anticipation builds for Drishyam 3, actor Asha Sharath has hinted that the third instalment of the blockbuster Malayalam franchise will once again leave audiences stunned, much like its predecessors.
During an interview with Club FM, when asked whether the climax of Drishyam 3 would shock viewers the way Drishyam and Drishyam 2 did, Asha Sharath said, “Of course, it has to shock. Drishyam is a film that keeps all of us on the edge of our seats. So you can expect that.”
Asked how she felt after completing Drishyam 3, the actor said she was “happy”, adding, “We will be able to know all the results on April 2.”
On whether the Mohanlal starrer would once again spark curiosity among viewers, Asha Sharath said the franchise has always had that quality. “Drishyam has always been like that. Just like the audience, even while reading the script, acting, and watching it, I was always in that excitement,” she said.
The Drishyam franchise, regarded as one of Malayalam cinema’s most successful and widely remade series, has built its reputation on unexpected twists and suspense-driven storytelling. With the third part generating massive hype across India, director Jeethu Joseph has repeatedly urged audiences to temper expectations, even as curiosity continues to soar.

Earlier, the makers announced that the film would release worldwide on April 2, 2026.
Mohanlal completed shooting his portions for the film in December last year, with a video of the actor cutting a cake alongside the film’s unit going viral on social media. The actor began work on Drishyam 3 on the eve of receiving Indian cinema’s highest honour, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
The film, the third instalment in the acclaimed franchise, was formally launched with a traditional puja ceremony at a law college near Kochi in September last year.
