O’Romeo X review: Shahid Kapoor wins internet praise for ‘owning every frame’

‘O’Romeo’, the latest Bollywood romantic thriller starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, opened in cinemas today, 13 February. The film, which marks Kapoor’s first theatrical release of the year, has drawn widespread curiosity for its gritty underworld setting and the fresh pairing at its centre.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film explores the life of a feared gangster whose world spirals into chaos after he becomes entangled in a dangerous, unreciprocated romance. Inspired by Mafia Queens of Mumbai, the narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a violent gang rivalry that reshapes the criminal underworld.
Ahead of release, advance sales indicated strong interest, with the film reportedly selling more than 118,000 tickets and earning about ₹3.05 crore even before its opening day.
