Kochi: A legal opinion has made serious remarks against the trial court judge in the actress assault case. The judge is under a cloud of suspicion in the memory card leak case. Therefore, the judge was not fit to deliver a verdict, the legal opinion states. The prosecution alleges that the judgment was prepared with the intention of acquitting Dileep and that evidence against the actor was not properly considered. A detailed note by Special Prosecutor V Ajith Kumar is also part of the legal opinion.

In December last year, the court had acquitted Dileep, eighth accused in the case. The court held that the conspiracy against Dileep could not be proven. At the same time, it found that the charges against accused one to six were proven and sentenced them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The verdict was delivered by Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese.

The incident in question took place on February 17, 2017. The actress was travelling from Thrissur to Ernakulam for a shoot when, according to the prosecution, she was abducted on contract and obscene visuals were recorded. The trial began in 2018.
