Netflix’s Vir Das: Fool Volume nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2026
Vir Das has added another milestone to his association with Netflix, with his stand-up special ‘Vir Das: Fool Volume’ earning a nomination in the Comedy category at the International Emmy Awards 2026.
The nomination marks the third time a Netflix special featuring Vir Das has been recognised by the International Emmys. His 2021 special ‘Vir Das: For India’ received a nomination, while ‘Vir Das: Landing’ won the International Emmy for Comedy in 2023, making him the first Indian comedian to take home the honour.
Vir Das also made history in 2024 when he became the first Indian to host the International Emmy Awards ceremony.
‘Fool Volume’ continues Vir Das’ run of taking Indian stand-up comedy to audiences beyond the country. The comedian is known for blending observational humour, personal experiences and social commentary in his work.
Speaking about the latest nomination, Vir Das said the special explores “silence” and what it means to have a voice and use it. He also thanked the International Emmy jury, audiences, his team and Netflix for supporting the project.
Netflix India Vice President, Content, Monika Shergill said Vir Das has consistently pushed stand-up beyond conventional formats, combining distinctive settings, humour and personal storytelling. She also highlighted the journey from ‘For India’ to ‘Landing’ and now ‘Fool Volume’, calling the latest nomination another significant moment in their partnership.
The winners of the International Emmy Awards 2026 will be announced at a ceremony in New York on November 23.
Other Netflix nominations at the International Emmy Awards 2026
Netflix has several other nominations across categories this year. They include Ricardo Darín for Best Performance by an Actor for ‘The Eternaut’, Bárbara Mori for Best Performance by an Actress for ‘Lucca’s World’ and Park Ji-hyun for Best Performance by an Actress for ‘You and Everything Else’.

In the Comedy category, Netflix has nominations for ‘Division Palermo: Season 2’, ‘Man v/s Baby’ and ‘Old Dog, New Tricks’. ‘My Melody & Kuromi’ has been nominated in Kids: Animation, while ‘Baila, Vini’ is in contention in the Sports Documentary category.
