National Film Awards: Mammootty and Rishab Shetty to battle it out for Best Actor | Reports

Various national media reported that the 70th National Film Awards will be announced this month. The awards for the films of 2022 will be announced. Films censored from January 1 to December 31, 2022 have been considered for the award.

Two people are competing for the best actor award- Mammootty and Kannada actor Rishab Shetty. Mammootty competes with his performances in ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ and ‘Rorschach’. Interestingly, these two films were produced by Mammootty's own production company, Mammootty Kampany. Mammootty's double role in ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, was highly praised. His role as Luke Antony in ‘Rorschach’ also won applause at the theaters.

The performance in the film ‘Kantara’ is what keeps Rishab Shetty active in the competition. He also wrote the screenplay and directed the film. ‘Kantara’, which hit the theaters on September 30, 2022, was received well by the audience. The film was a big hit in Kerala too. ‘Kantara’ also had the honor of being exhibited at the United Nations office in Geneva, Switzerland.

There are also reports that the awards will be distributed in October.
