'There’s so much more to come...': Mohanlal shares exciting update on Empuraan

Veteran actor Mohanlal has revealed that the much-awaited sequel to the Malayalam superhit film Lucifer, titled 'L2: Empuraan', has wrapped up its shooting, just in time for its highly anticipated release in March next year.
Empuraan is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on March 27, 2025, and will be available in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
Mohanlal shared this exciting update on his social media on Sunday morning, reflecting on the remarkable journey that took place over 14 months across eight states and four countries, including the UK, USA, and UAE.
In his heartfelt post, Mohanlal expressed gratitude towards the individuals who made this cinematic dream a reality. Earlier today, Prithviraj also shared a post on X, announcing the conclusion of filming: "At 5:35 am today, by the banks of the Malampuzha reservoir, we canned the final shot of #L2E #EMPURAAN See you in theatres in 117 days!"

The film will reunite Mohanlal and Prithviraj with a stellar supporting cast, including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Arjun Das, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar. Empuraan is backed by Lyca Productions, known for its successful films, and is a collaborative project with Aashirvad Cinemas. The screenplay is once again penned by Murali Gopy, who also wrote the script for Lucifer.
