‘MobLand’ ends season 1 on a high: Will Paramount+ confirm season 2 soon?

Paramount+'s gritty British crime drama 'MobLand' has quickly become a global sensation since its March 30 debut, captivating audiences and critics alike. Anchored by a stellar performance from Tom Hardy, the series has broken viewership records and sparked strong anticipation for a second season.
Stellar cast and gripping narrative
Tom Hardy's compelling portrayal of Harry Da Souza, the Harrigan crime family's astute fixer, has been widely praised as a 'tour de force' and a 'brilliant return to form.' Critics commend his remarkable ability to 'drag this drama along from scene to scene,' bringing depth and complexity to the character.
Beyond Hardy, MobLand boasts an 'A-list cast' delivering 'top-tier' performances. Pierce Brosnan, as the formidable patriarch Conrad, and Helen Mirren, as the chillingly manipulative matriarch Maeve, provide a powerful core to the Harrigan syndicate. The first season plunged viewers into a brutal gang war, rife with betrayal and bloodshed, culminating in a devastating finale that left key characters in precarious positions.
Will fans get a season 2?
Although Paramount+ has yet to officially renew MobLand for a second season, the series’ impressive ratings, with an average of 11 million views during the first 35 days, make a renewal highly likely.
Co-creator Jez Butterworth told The New York Times, “I’d like this to run for as long as it fascinates and delights and stimulates an audience. If it’s doing that, then long may it continue.” Viewers eagerly await the next chapter of this gripping saga.
The season 1 finale aired on Sunday, June 1.
