Meet Tini Stoessel: Rodrigo De Paul's fiancée and Argentina's pop music sensation

Argentine football star Rodrigo De Paul may be making headlines on the pitch, but his fiancée, Martina "Tini" Stoessel, has long been a superstar in her own right. A singer, songwriter and actress, Tini has built one of Latin America's biggest pop careers.

From Disney star to global pop icon

Born Martina Stoessel, the Argentine entertainer first shot to fame as the lead of Disney Channel Latin America's hit series ‘Violetta’, which aired from 2012 to 2015. The show made her a household name across Spanish-speaking countries and launched her career in music.

She officially stepped into the music industry with her debut album ‘Tini’ in 2016, which topped the charts in Argentina and entered the top 10 in several European countries.

She followed it up with ‘Quiero Volver’ (2018), blending pop and reggae influences while continuing her international rise.

In 2020, Tini reinvented her sound with ‘Tini Tini Tini’, embracing Latin trap and reggae. The album broke the record for the most albums sold by a female artist in Argentina.

Her success continued with ‘Cupido’ (2023), featuring hit tracks like "Miénteme," "Bar," and "La Triple T." The album became the first Argentine release of the 2020s to reach the Billboard U.S. Top 10 and the Top 50 Latin Albums chart.

Her latest album, ‘Un Mechón de Pelo’ (2024), showcased a more alternative pop sound and included the emotional single "Pa." Beyond her solo work, Tini has collaborated with international artists including Steve Aoki, Becky G and Anitta, while headlining multiple global tours, including the ongoing ‘Futtura World Tour’.

A love story that survived a breakup

Tini and Rodrigo De Paul first went public with their relationship in August 2022 when the Argentine midfielder shared a selfie of the couple kissing on Instagram, captioning it simply, "Thank you for these days."

The romance began shortly after De Paul's split from longtime partner Camila Homs, with whom he shares two children, Francesca and Bautista.

However, their relationship wasn't without challenges.

In August 2023, Tini confirmed they had ended their relationship, writing on social media, "I want to let you know that Rodrigo and I have decided to end our relationship. We shared some wonderful moments, where I had the opportunity to get to know someone I love and respect very much. We supported each other through very important moments in our lives. Thank you so much for your love and respect."

The breakup proved temporary. In April 2025, the pair were spotted together at a sporting event in Madrid, fuelling reconciliation rumours before eventually confirming they were back together later that year.

Constantly cheering each other on

Despite demanding careers, the couple have consistently supported one another's biggest milestones.

Ahead of Argentina's triumphant 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign, De Paul thanked Tini in an emotional Instagram post, writing, "When many others gave up or kept repeating nonsense, you took my hand and told me I wasn't alone... I'll hug you soon. Thank you. I love you."

Tini has regularly attended De Paul's matches, including Argentina's 2026 FIFA World Cup fixtures.

Likewise, after Tini sold out Buenos Aires' Campo Argentino de Polo stadium, De Paul celebrated her achievement with another heartfelt message:

"It makes me so proud to see you shine. You deserve all this and more. Keep shining, there's no limit to what you can achieve. I love you with all my heart.”

Their engagement

In May 2026, De Paul announced that the couple were engaged by sharing a close-up photo of Tini's marquise-cut diamond ring on Instagram Stories.

Alongside the image, he wrote, "My life partner, the angel who came to save me. You are the best team. I love you."

Earlier that year, on Tini's birthday, he had also praised her "courage in overcoming fears" and thanked her for bringing "joy" into his life.

Today, Tini Stoessel is known as one of Argentina's biggest music exports, a chart-topping artist whose career continues to flourish while she and the football star prepare for their next chapter together.
