Marathi actress Priya Marathe passes away

Mumbai: Popular Marathi actress Priya Marathe passed away on Sunday. She was 38.
She was undergoing treatment for cancer, TV9 Marathi reported. Priya was a prominent figure in the Marathi television and film industry.
She gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Varsha in the hit TV series Pavitra Rishta.
Over the years, Priya Marathe won the hearts of audiences with her compelling performances and captivating screen presence, earning praise for her roles in popular shows like Char Divas Sasuche, Tu Tithe Mi, Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji, Ya Sukhano Ya, and more.
She was born on April 23, 1987 in Mumbai. She did her schooling and college from Mumbai and soon found her calling in the world of acting. She began her acting career with the Marathi series Ya Sukhano Ya. She made her mark in Hindi television with the role of Vidya Bali in Kasamh Se and showcased her comedic skills as a participant in Comedy Circus.
She also worked in a Marathi serial 'Tu Tithe Me' in a negative role of Priya Mohite. In February 2017, she joined the cast of Star Plus's show 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya'. She played the role of Bhavani Rathod in the show, an evil natured woman who has killed her husband.
She married actor Shantanu Moghe on 24 April 2012. He has also played an important role in the series 'Swarajya Rakshak Sambhaji'. She also believed in spirituality. Priya's acting journey has been an important one in the Marathi and Hindi entertainment industry.
