‘There was pain, but he passed away peacefully’, says Manoj Kumar’s son Kunal Goswami | VIDEO

Mumbai: Kunal Goswami, son of late legendary actor Manoj Kumar, has spoken about the sorrowful passing of his father, describing his final moments as calm and peacefull. While grappling with immense grief, he expressed gratitude that the veteran actor did not suffer in his last hours.
Kunal Goswami said, “The sad news is that he has passed away. He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri and took his last breath at around 3:30 am. His health had not been well for the past two to three weeks. There were complications because of his age. There was a lot of pain. But he passed away peacefully. Your love, blessings, and prayers were with him. His last rites will be performed tomorrow morning at 11 am at Pawan Hans Crematorium, opposite Nanavati Hospital. I thank PM Narendra Modi for his tweet”.
Speaking about the legendary actor’s body of work, his son mentioned, “You watch his movies. His films are still relevant today. Be it Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, or Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, these movies are still relevant. The issues he raised are still relevant today whether in the Parliament or in the society”.
On Friday, Manoj Kumar passed away at the age of 87 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital on February 21 after his health significantly worsened.
In a statement, Dr. Santosh Shetty, CEO and Executive Director at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, said, “Veteran actor Shri Manoj Kumarji passed away peacefully at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital early this morning at around 3:30 am due to age-related health issues. He had been hospitalised for the past few weeks.”
