Platinum ring, silver bracelet: Manju Pillai’s special wedding gift to vlogger Karthik Surya

Popular vlogger and TV presenter Karthik Surya recently tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends. He married Varsha, his uncle’s daughter, marking the occasion with personal touches and warm wishes from loved ones. Among those who made the day even more special was veteran Malayalam actress Manju Pillai, who presented Karthik with a deeply emotional wedding gift. She gifted him a platinum ring and a silver bracelet engraved with Lord Murugan’s ‘Vel’.

In a vlog posted just days before his wedding, Karthik shared the behind-the-scenes moments of this heartfelt gesture. The video shows Karthik accompanying Manju Pillai and her daughter Daya to a jewellery store, where the actress carefully chose the gifts.

Manju Pillai said in the video that she sees Karthik as a younger brother and wanted her present to reflect that bond. “Though I had initially chosen an elephant hair ring for Karthik, when I saw him try the platinum ring, I felt it looked more ‘classy’ on a man’s hand. Even though it’s more expensive than the elephant hair ring, I really liked how it looked on his finger,” she said.

She went on to mention that Karthik had been wishing for a bracelet for quite some time. Wanting to fulfill that wish, she bought him a silver bracelet engraved with the sacred ‘Vel’ of Lord Murugan. The video captures the touching moment as Manju Pillai adorns Karthik with the ring and bracelet while they sit together in a car.

During the exchange, Karthik shared that his fiancée, Varsha, had put the first ring on his finger during their engagement. Now, he felt moved to receive another from his ‘chechi’ (elder sister), Manju. He also expressed his happiness about the bracelet, especially because of his deep devotion to Lord Murugan, making the engraved ‘Vel’ all the more meaningful to him.
