Mammootty’s New Year gift; Wheelchairs for hospitals

Kottayam: As a New Year gift, the Care and Share International Foundation, led by actor Mammootty, distributed wheelchairs to selected hospitals in Kottayam district. The distribution was inaugurated by Cardinal Mar George Jacob Koovakkatt. Cardinal George Jacob Koovakkatt, Dr Yuhanon Mar Diascoros Metropolitan, and Swami Vithasanghananda jointly lit the ceremonial lamp.

Cardinal George Jacob Koovakkatt said he was happy about the charitable activities of the Care and Share Foundation, which was launched 16 years ago and continues to be actively led by Mammootty. The function was presided over by Dr Yuhanon Mar Diascoros Metropolitan.

Swami Vithasanghananda, head of the Pala Sree Ramakrishna Math, delivered the benediction address. Foundation Managing Director Fr Thomas Kurien Marottippuzha explained the various activities of Care and Share. Dr Rubel Raj, Orphanage Control Board member Roy Mathew Vadakkel, Good News Ammaveedu Director Fr Joseph Kandathiparambil, and George Varghese Nedumavu also spoke at the event.
