Mammootty visits Cochin Haneefa's new home, stands in silent tribute before actor's portraits

Kochi: Actor Mammootty and his wife Sulfath paid a surprise visit to the newly built home of late actor Cochin Haneefa, A.B. Manzil, on Ambedkar Road in Vennala. Haneefa's wife, Fasila, welcomed the couple.
Mammootty had been away when the housewarming ceremony took place last week. During the visit, he toured the house with Haneefa's children, Safa and Marva, and enquired about their studies and well-being. Reaching the top floor, where photographs of Haneefa are displayed, Mammootty stood silently for a few moments in remembrance of his longtime friend.
He also recalled how, just days before his death, Haneefa had travelled to Dubai for a film shoot despite being advised against it because of his failing health.
After enjoying his favourite cup of black tea and some snacks, Mammootty promised to return another day for a meal before he and Sulfath took leave.
Haneefa's family realised their long-cherished dream of owning a home 16 years after the beloved actor's passing.
