Mammootty-Mohanlal to reunite for Mahesh Narayanan’s film, with shoot in Sri Lanka?

Director Mahesh Narayanan is reportedly bringing veteran actors Mammootty and Mohanlal together for their first joint project in over a decade. Produced in collaboration between Mammootty Kampany and Aashirvad Cinemas, the film will be shot in Sri Lanka, Kerala, Delhi, and London.
A meeting had taken place on September 15 between the film’s team and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. The discussion, held at the Prime Minister’s residence, included Malayalam Cinema Producers Association president Anto Joseph, Mahesh Narayanan, and producer CV Sarathi. The team is planning a 30-day shoot in Sri Lanka.
In an effort to attract more filmmakers, the Sri Lankan government is leveraging this high-profile project to promote the country as a prime filming location. Prime Minister Gunawardena expressed appreciation for selecting Sri Lanka, noting the project’s potential to enhance foreign exchange revenues and boost tourism. Sri Lanka, which has been a backdrop for renowned international films such as 'The Elephant Walk', 'Tarzan', and 'The Bridge on the River Kwai', is expected to gain further acclaim as a filming destination with this new venture.
Mammootty's most recent appearance was in 'Turbo', directed by Vysakh, while Mohanlal’s directorial debut, 'Barroz', featuring him as the lead, is scheduled to release in October. The two actors, who have worked together in approximately fifty films, last collaborated on the 2013 release 'Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty'.
