My son has done nothing wrong, not afraid of investigation, says Mallika Sukumaran on IT notice

Kochi: Actress Mallika Sukumaran has responded to the Income Tax Department's notice issued to her son, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. She told Mathrubhumi News that her son has done nothing wrong and they are not afraid of any investigation.

The notice, which was issued on March 29, seeks clarification regarding Prithviraj’s income from three films released in 2022. This information came to light only now. The department has directed Prithviraj to respond with the explanation by April 29.

The department has asked for details regarding the remuneration related to the films Kaduva, Jana Gana Mana, and Gold. Prithviraj was a co-producer of these movies. He had not received payment as an actor but had received money under the name of the production company in his capacity as a co-producer. The Income Tax Department is seeking clarity on this. They have clarified that this is part of a routine procedure.
