‘Lokah is better than ₹100 crore films’: Jayaram hails Malayalam blockbuster’s success

Veteran actor Jayaram has praised the Malayalam film Lokah for its outstanding success and technical brilliance, calling it bigger than many high-budget movies.
Speaking at the press meet of his film Mirai, Jayaram said, “Isn’t it more amazing than making a film with a budget of ₹100 crore that could bring visual effects worth ₹25 crore to it?” He expressed his admiration for the film’s ability to deliver world-class quality on what he believes to be a modest budget of around ₹30 crore. Jayaram added, “I believe that it is a film made on a budget of 30 crores. However, it gives the effect of a film with a budget of over 100 crores.” He went on to commend the film’s technical team, saying they deserve 100 percent applause and that Lokah serves as a valuable lesson for big-budget productions.
Lokah, directed by Dominic Arun, has become a massive commercial hit, crossing the ₹200 crore mark worldwide in just 13 days since its release. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in the lead roles and features a talented supporting cast including Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Nishanth Sagar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Nithya Shri, and Sarath Sabha.
The movie has also been praised for its gripping narrative and impressive guest appearances that have captivated audiences.
The film’s success is notable not only for its box office performance but also because it has set a new benchmark for female-centric films in South India, becoming the highest-grossing movie of its kind. Lokah entered the ₹100 crore club within its first week.
