'Empuraan' frenzy grips theatres: Mohanlal and stars watch movie with fans

The much-anticipated release of L2: Empuraan transformed theatres into vibrant celebration zones, with fans eagerly gathering for the first screening at 6 am on Thursday. Directed by Prithviraj and featuring superstar Mohanlal in the lead, the film premiered on approximately 750 screens across Kerala.

Adding to the excitement, Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith, and other prominent stars attended the first show at the Kavitha Theatre in Kochi, amplifying the festive atmosphere.

Fans began celebrating the release of Empuraan as early as Wednesday night, and the enthusiasm continued until the early hours of Thursday. Several theatres scheduled multiple screenings to accommodate the overwhelming demand.

Even before its official release, Empuraan shattered multiple records in Malayalam cinema. Reports suggest that the film earned a staggering ₹50 crore from ticket sales on its first day, marking a historic achievement. Additionally, advance bookings reportedly crossed ₹58 crore, setting a new benchmark in the industry.

The film, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, also stars Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jerome Flynn, Baiju, Saikumar, Andrea Tivader, Abhimanyu Singh, Saniya Ayyappan, Fazil, Sachin Khedkar, Naila Usha, Jiju John, Nandu, Murugan Martin, Sivaji Guruvayur, Manikuttan, Aneesh G. Other stars include Menon, Sivada, Alex O'Neill, Eric Ebony, Karthikeya Dev, Mihael Novikov, Kishore, Sukant, Behzad Khan, Nikhat Khan, Satyajit Sharma, Nayan Bhatt, Shubhangi, and Jais Jose. The film will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
