Kim Kardashian admits she didn’t know the Ambanis: Then lost a diamond at their wedding

Kim Kardashian and her sister, Khloe Kardashian, have shared details of their recent trip to India for the extravagant $600 million wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim revealed that their attendance was somewhat spontaneous, stating, “I actually don’t know the Ambanis. We definitely have friends in common.”
The invitation to the wedding came through renowned jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, who designs jewellery for the Ambani family. “Lorraine Schwartz is one of our good friends. She is a jeweller. She does jewellery for the Ambani family. She told me she was going to their wedding and they would love to invite you and we just went on a whim and said ‘sure,’” Kim explained, recounting how they decided to embark on the 48-hour trip to Jamnagar, Gujarat, in July 2024.
The sisters described the wedding as elaborate and expressed their awe at the invitation itself. Khloe noted its significant weight, estimating it to be around 40-50 pounds (18-22 kgs), and mentioned that it even played music when opened.4 “It was crazy! When we saw the invitation, we were like, you don’t say no to something like this,” Khloe said.
However, the trip wasn't without its drama. Kim recounted a moment of panic when she realised a diamond was missing from a statement necklace she had borrowed from Schwartz. “It was like the big diamond necklace, like a bib, and then there were pearls and big pear-shaped diamonds hanging from it,” Kim described the necklace.
The missing diamond sparked a frantic search. “It’s nowhere to be found,” Kim said, while Khloe jokingly suggested, “Maybe it’s in my dress. Or your dress. Is it in your boobs? You never know.” Kim expressed her confusion, stating, “I literally had it on, I walked, didn’t even hug anyone in those few feet. Nothing happened for me to lose it,” to which Khloe responded with a lighthearted, “RIP”.
Kim, holding a placard that read “In loving memory of the Ambani wedding diamond,” admitted, “I felt bad in the moment.” Khloe quipped, “Only right now. She hasn’t thought about it since.”
Despite the diamond mishap, both Kim and Khloe made a stunning impression at the wedding. Kim, styled by Dani Levi, wore a striking red lehenga-sari designed by Manish Malhotra, featuring a dramatic off-shoulder blouse and a flowing mermaid-style skirt.6 Khloe also chose a Manish Malhotra creation, opting for a beige and gold embellished lehenga-sari with intricate gold embroidery and an off-shoulder bustier.
