Kerala Film Critics Awards presented: Mohanlal, Anaswara and Kalyani receive top honours

The Kerala Film Critics Awards were presented in Kochi, with Eko winning the award for Best Film. Mohanlal was named Best Actor, while Anaswara Rajan and Kalyani Priyadarshan shared the Best Actress honour.
Mammootty received a Special Mention from the jury. Playback singer MG Sreekumar was honoured with the Chalachithraratnam Award, while filmmaker Priyadarshan received the Ruby Jubilee Award.
The awards ceremony was held at the IMA Hall in Ernakulam and was inaugurated by Minister PC Vishnunadh. Film Critics Association president Prof. George Onakkoor presided over the event.
‘Rekhachithram’ was named the Second Best Film, while Dominic Arun won the Best Director award.
The award for Best Short Film went to ‘Made In’. Honey Rose and Shubha Wayanad were jointly named Best Supporting Actresses, while Devananda Jibin and Dharmik Sudhakaran shared the Best Child Artist award.
The acting honours also included Dileesh Pothan, who was recognised as Best Supporting Actor.
Music and other technical honours
The Best Playback Singer award for female voices went jointly to Sithara Krishnakumar and J.R. Divya Nair. Navaneeth Unnikrishnan was honoured as Best Playback Singer among the male singers.
Jakes Bejoy received the award for Best Music Director, while Mahesh Gopan and Murali Neelambari were recognised for their work as lyricists.
The awards brought together performers and filmmakers from across Malayalam cinema, recognising achievements in acting, direction, music and other areas of filmmaking.
Mohanlal and Priyadarshan among major honourees
The recognition for Mohanlal adds another honour to a career spanning more than four decades. Priyadarshan, meanwhile, received the Ruby Jubilee Award, marking his contribution to Malayalam cinema as one of its prominent filmmakers.
The Kerala Film Critics Awards are presented annually by the Kerala Film Critics Association to recognise notable work in Malayalam cinema.
