Karishma Tanna and Varun Bangera welcome their first child on Guru Purnima

Actor Karishma Tanna and husband Varun Bangera have welcomed their first child, a baby boy. The couple announced the arrival of their son through a joint Instagram post on Wednesday, revealing that he was born on Guru Purnima, July 29.

The announcement featured a black-and-white photograph of their baby's feet with a tag reading "He's Here." The image also carried the message, "It's a Boy! Karishma & Varun. Our Greatest Blessing. 29th July 2026."

In the caption, the couple wrote, "Born on the sacred day of Guru Purnima. Our greatest blessing is here. 29th July 2026. Welcome to our world, little one."

Soon after the announcement, congratulatory messages began pouring in from friends and colleagues across the entertainment industry. Khushi Kapoor, Smriti Irani, Kiku Sharda, Sonu Sood, Sonal Chauhan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Neha Dhupia were among those who wished the new parents.

Their journey to parenthood

Karishma and Varun began dating in 2021 before tying the knot in Mumbai in 2022. Their wedding celebrations included traditional pre-wedding ceremonies followed by an intimate ceremony attended by family members and close friends from the film and television industry.

In April this year, Karishma announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a series of photographs, sharing that the couple was expecting their first child. The announcement received widespread attention and warm wishes from fans and celebrities.

A month later, she shared glimpses from her traditional Tulu-style baby shower, celebrating the occasion with family and loved ones.
