Kangana Ranaut gears up for ‘Queen 2’, here’s what we know

Kangana Ranaut is all set to reprise her iconic role as Rani in ‘Queen 2’, with shooting expected to begin by the end of April.
The 2014 original, directed by Vikas Bahl, starring Kangana alongside Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon in supporting roles became a beloved comedy-drama. The sequel promises a new take on Rani’s journey of self-discovery.
Unlike the first film, ‘Queen 2’ is not expected to be a direct continuation of the 2014 storyline. According to reports, the sequel will explore the same themes of self-discovery and independence, but with a new twist. Rani, previously a small-town girl, will now be a city girl.
A source revealed, “In Queen 2, Kangana’s Rani will be smart, strong, and quirky. A plot point will send her on a journey of self-discovery. The film will show how she conquers life through her individuality, courage, and self-realisation. While the first movie saw her travelling alone to Paris and Amsterdam, this time the journey will take her across cities in India.”
On workfront, Kangana was last seen in ‘Emergency’ and is now set to appear alongside R. Madhavan in an upcoming project. She also has ‘Bharat Bhagya Viddhaata’ in the works.
