Vishak Nair receives death threats over role in Kangana Ranaut’s 'Emergency'

Malayalam actor Vishak Nair has disclosed that he has been receiving death threats following his role in the upcoming film 'Emergency'. Directed by actress Kangana Ranaut, the film is set against the backdrop of the Indian Emergency period.
Nair, who plays Sanjay Gandhi in the movie, has reported receiving lewd and threatening messages from individuals who mistakenly believe he is portraying Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
“For the last few days, I have been receiving death threats, lewd messages and mentions from some people who wrongly believe that I have essayed the role of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in ‘Emergency’. I would like to once again reiterate that I have played the role of SANJAY GANDHI in this film. I request the people in question to kindly check your facts before spreading hate and misinformation," Vishak Nair wrote.
'Emergency' features Kangana Ranaut as Indira Gandhi, with Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan. The film will cover the Indo-Pak War and explore significant historical events of the period. In addition to directing and co-producing the film, Kangana Ranaut has also written the screenplay.
