Kalki 2898 AD box office day 4: Prabhas starrer nears Rs 500 crore mark

"Kalki 2898 AD," featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan in lead roles, debuted in theatres on June 27 with an astounding Rs 95.3 crore in box office earnings on its opening day. As per the latest estimates published in Sacnilk, the film's worldwide collections amount to Rs 369.5 crore and the Indian net at Rs 309 cr. 

However, film trade analyst Ramesh Bala posted on X that the film had crossed Rs 500 crore in the global box office. "As evening shows started all over the world, Kalki 2898 AD has crossed Rs 500 crore GBOC at the WW Box Office," Bala wrote in a post. The makers on Sunday claimed that the movie had collected Rs 415 crores at the box office in the first three days. 

According to Sacnilk, the film had garnered Rs 85 crore across all languages by Sunday. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is predicted to break several box office collections in the coming days. The film is also receiving positive responses from across the world. 

Meanwhile, the film's first-day collection surpassed last year's top opener "Jawan," starring Shah Rukh Khan, which earned Rs 75 crore. The Shah Rukh Khan movie went on to amass Rs 640.25 crore nett in India and a total of Rs 1,160 crore worldwide. According to Sacnik, Prabhas starrer has already amassed Rs 9.7 cr in the Malayalam language alone. 

Previously titled "Project K", it is arguably the most expensive feature film in Indian cinema history at a reported Rs 600 crore. Large crowds were seen outside theatres in several cities, including Hyderabad and Mumbai. The initial reviews were favourable.

The film has also received a huge shout from many celebrities, including megastar Rajinikanth, who called "Kalki 2898 AD" an "epic movie".
