Shah Rukh Khan’s EMI non-payment costed his Gypsy, he had no house: Juhi Chawla

At an event, Juhi Chawla opened up about the financial difficulties experienced by Shah Rukh Khan in his early days in the film industry. Chawla, who has acted alongside Khan in many films and continues to share a close friendship with him, recounted an incident where Khan’s car was repossessed due to unpaid EMI.
"I remember Shah Rukh in those days. At that time, Shah Rukh did not have his own house in Mumbai. He had come to Mumbai from Delhi. There was no one to cook for him and I am not even sure where Shah Rukh stayed. He had his tea and food along with the cinema unit. He worked in two or three shifts. He wanted to advance in life.
Shah Rukh had a vehicle. I remember it was a black Gypsy. One day that Gypsy was taken away as he could not pay the EMI. After that, he came to the sets very disappointed. I said, 'Don’t worry, one day you will own many cars like this.’ Now it’s true. Look where Shah Rukh has reached," said Juhi Chawla.
Today, Shah Rukh Khan owns many luxury cars, and many fans visit Mumbai just to see his iconic residence, 'Mannat.'
