The Malayalam legal thriller JSK Janaki V Vs State of Kerala, starring Suresh Gopi and Anupama Parameswaran, is set to make its digital debut on Zee5 this Independence Day, 15 August 2025.

The film, which was released in theatres on 17 July, faced delays in certification due to objections from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The CBFC raised concerns over the use of the name "Janaki" for a rape survivor, citing its association with Goddess Sita and the potential to offend religious sentiments. As a result, the board initially refused to clear the film. The producers later agreed to mute the name in scenes to obtain certification and proceed with the release.

Following a 19-day theatrical run and a reported domestic box office collection of ₹5.5 crore, the film will now be accessible to a wider audience via OTT. JSK Janaki V Vs State of Kerala follows the story of a sexual assault survivor who seeks justice through the legal system, supported by a dedicated lawyer.

The film is directed by Pravin Narayanan and produced by J. Phanindra Kumar under Cosmos Entertainments, with Sethuraman Nair Kankol as co-producer. The cast also includes Madhav Suresh, Shruti Ramachandran, Divya Pillai, Askar Ali, Baiju Santhosh, Kottayam Ramesh, and Shoby Thilaka. It has a runtime of 2 hours and 34 minutes, with cinematography by Renadive and background music composed by Ghibran.
