‘I will take the shot and come back,’ Mohanlal tells Sreenivasan in one of their final meetings
The team of Hridayapoorvam shared a video in remembrance of the late actor, director, and screenwriter Sreenivasan. The video shows moments from when Sreenivasan visited the Hridayapoorvam film set. The visuals capture Mohanlal, Sathyan Anthikad, and others warmly welcoming and interacting with him.
Sreenivasan arrived by car along with his wife Vimala and was received by Anoop Sathyan, son of Sathyan Anthikad and the film’s chief associate director, who held his hand and guided him inside. Anoop is also heard instructing the crew, saying, “Tell dad.” Sathyan Anthikad welcomes Sreenivasan, calling out, “Come, sir, come, come” (“Vango ayya, vango vango”). Sathyan Anthikad and Lalu Alex then walk forward holding Sreenivasan by the hand.
Engaging in friendly conversations with many people, Sreenivasan is also seen asking Sathyan Anthikad about Akhil Sathyan, the film’s writer. The video further shows Mohanlal holding Sreenivasan’s hands and speaking with him. As he leaves to act in a scene, Mohanlal says, “I’ll take the shot and come back.”
Later, Sreenivasan is seen seated with Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad. Sathyan Anthikad tells Mohanlal that Sreenivasan said he is eager to direct again. Mohanlal responds saying, “Then direct indirectly.” Sathyan Anthikad later narrates his “Sreeni stories” to those around him, including actor Malavika Mohanan.
Quoting a dialogue from Nadodikkattu, Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal prepare to send Sreenivasan off. Sreenivasan leaves the set after taking photographs with those present.
The video was shared with the caption: “To the actor who spread laughter, to the writer who made us think.”
Earlier, in an interview with Mathrubhumi.com, Sathyan Anthikad had spoken openly about Sreenivasan’s visit to the location.
“When the shoot was happening in Mulanthuruthy, Sreenivasan came to the set one day. Mohanlal embraced both of us. I saw tears in Mohanlal’s eyes,” Sathyan Anthikad recalled.
